In it's prime, Counter-Strike 1.6 was one of the world's premier eSports titles. It was featured at every major tournament, commanded huge prize pools, and attracted tens of thousands of spectators both in-game and on streams. Is Global Offensive capable of recreating that success? According to our respondents, probably not.
Most people moved significantly in disagreement, with a noticeable split between 1.6 and Source players at the upper end. Even though Source players were slightly more optimistic, both groups seem to be convinced that CS:GO won't hold a flame to the 1.6 scene in the middle of the last decade.
